Unbelieveable, North Koreans Drown Southerners Without Warning

North Korea unleashed walls of water from one or more of its dams on Sunday, sending a flash flood roaring through the heavily armed border with South Korea and sweeping away six South Koreans, officials in Seoul said.

The six South Koreans, who are still missing, include an 8-year-old boy. They were camping or fishing on the Imjin River, which flows from the North, enters South Korea north of Seoul, and meanders close to the border before emptying into the Yellow Sea.

“The government will send a telegram to the North on Monday to protest and demand a satisfying explanation,” the Unification Ministry of South Korea said in a statement.

Officials said the Imjin River’s water level on the border doubled, to 15.1 feet, after North Korea began releasing water without warning at 2 a.m. on Sunday, either from its newly built Hwanggang Dam 17 miles north of the border or from a smaller dam downstream.

Is this not governmental murder?

BIll Clinton did a wonderful thing, and it didn't involve anything sleazy

As Laura Ling and Euna Lee celebrated their freedom and thanked Bill Clinton for his rescue mission on Wednesday, harrowing details of their ordeal as North Korean prisoners emerged. They didn't have to break rocks, just eat them.

Prison food was rice peppered with rocks. They were held in isolation from each other, gripped by fear that they would be shipped to one of the infamous hard-labor gulags in Kim Jong Il's Communist state.

"The past 140 days have been the most difficult, heart-wrenching time of our lives," Ling said, choking back sobs just moments after the two journalists were reunited with their families.

Kim Jong Very Il

A news report says North Korean leader Kim Jong Il has pancreatic cancer. Seoul’s news channel network YTN television reported Monday that Kim, 67, was diagnosed with the cancer around the time he was felled by a stroke last summer. The report cited unidentified intelligence officials in South Korea and China. Frankly, for world peace, I hope the disease takes him quickly. We don't need his pig-headed belligerence destablizing the Asia-Pacific region.
